Stuart enjoys a busy general civil practice.
Stuart’s personal injury and disease work sees him regularly advise and appear in Multi- and Fast Track matters.
He has appeared in employment tribunals a number of times, and has been successful in both unfair dismissal and disability discrimination cases.
He has a developing regularity practice and regularly represents members of a major teaching union. He has been successful in reinstating a number of teachers to the profession.
Stuart has also advised and appeared across a range of other areas of civil law, including public law, insolvency and commercial disputes.
Stuart has made successful appearances for commercial, residential and social landlords and tenants and has experience of anti-social behaviour proceedings.
Stuart is happy to act under conditional fee agreements, damages based agreements, and in Publicly Funded matters.
Prior to coming to the Bar, Stuart worked for seven years in public policy and regulatory affairs. That work saw him regularly represent FTSE 100 companies in policy and regulatory debates in the UK and at international institutions. His past career provided particular experience in gas and electricity regulation, EU law, international trade rules and low-carbon policies.
In his spare time Stuart enjoys sport and travel and in a former life used to be a full-time professional rugby player with the Saracens. He is also active in his local community and for the last nine years has supported a community project in West Africa.
