Dominic joined Ropewalk Chambers as a tenant in 2024 after successful completion of his pupillage under the supervision of Philip Godfrey. He enjoys a busy and varied practice, balancing court appearances with drafting and advisory work.

Dominic appears frequently in RTAs, credit hire, contractual disputes and interim applications on both the small claims and fast track. His advisory work has recently included Highways Act 1980 claims, clinical negligence, public and employers’ liability, and a more niche breach of The Electricity Safety, Quality and Continuity Regulations 2002. Dominic also takes on pro bono cases which has included professional negligence and regulatory work.

Dominic prides himself on a personable client approach whilst simultaneously getting to grips with the crucial factual and legal issues in every case. It is appreciated by both lay clients and solicitors.

“The barrister – Dominic – deserves some credit. He was very clear and cut to the point.”

“Dominic performed brilliantly and used his expertise and experience to return with a successful outcome; in which liability was found in favour of our client. Dominic also recovered costs in doing so which is a fantastic result all round for our client and ourselves.”

Dominic has received several awards including the E Ivor Hughes scholarship and was the first ever recipient of the Communications Award from the University of Manchester. During his pupillage, Dominic won the 56th Hammond Cup, a mooting competition organised by the Nottinghamshire Law Society.

Dominic studied History and American Studies at the University of Manchester, achieving a 2:1. He later completed the GDL, receiving a Distinction and was graded Very Competent on the BTC.

Away from work Dominic enjoys playing golf, badminton and keeping up with the anguish of supporting Chelsea FC. When time allows, Dominic enjoys travelling to Southeast Asia to work on his cooking and scuba diving – the most recent trip being to the Komodo National Park in Indonesia.
