Animals & Equine
We are well-versed in all aspects of animals and equine law and regularly advise on contractual and misrepresentation matters involving livestock, horses and dogs.
We are also experienced in veterinary negligence claims. We often deal with trespass claims and also those that involve environmental nuisance issues. Our barristers are also familiar with the law surrounding hunting.
We are frequently instructed in personal injury cases involving animals and horses, ranging from moderate claims such as dog bites to catastrophic spinal and brain injuries, and fatal accidents. We act for those injured, the owner or keeper of the animal or animals or their insurers. Our specialist barristers are well-versed in the intricacies of the Animals Act 1971 and associated case law.
We can also assist with any regulatory, anti-doping and selection issues for sportspeople and one of our barristers sits as legal chair for the British Equestrian Federation.
