Kam is a specialist practitioner in industrial disease cases and has been routinely recognised as a leading junior in this field by published guides to the legal profession.

Kam specialises principally in disease, all aspects of personal injury (including catastrophic injury) clinical negligence and insurance work.

He has been recognised as a leading junior by the Legal 500 and Chambers and Partners for a number of consecutive years.

He regularly appears in the County and High Courts and has also appeared in the Court of Appeal.

Interests away from the Bar include rugby, football, squash, skiing and snooker.

  • Disease

    Kam is a specialist practitioner in industrial disease cases and has been routinely recognised as a leading junior in this field by published guides to the legal profession.

    He is familiar with all categories and types of industrial disease related work, including but not limited to asbestos related injury and occupational cancers, acoustic injury, hand-arm vibration syndrome, dermatitis, respiratory disease, work related upper limb disorders and stress related injury.

    Kam has conducted disease trials at Courts throughout England and Wales.  In addition, he regularly undertakes CMC and Show Cause hearings before the Masters.

    Since his appointment to the Attorney General’s Regional Panel of Counsel to the Crown in 2010, he has acted extensively for the steel, rail, coal mining and ship-building industries.  He also regularly acts for the MoD.

  • Personal Injury

    Kam acts for both claimants and defendants in all aspects of higher value personal injury work, including employers’, occupiers’ and public liability claims, claims by pupils against LEA’s, vicarious liability cases, claims arising from sports, defective premises, construction site accidents and all manner of fatal accident claims.

    He has undertaken numerous JSMs and mediations and his experience of high value work includes brain injuries, spinal injuries (including paralysis) and amputees.

    Kam is often instructed by insurers and a range of government bodies in claims of up to and exceeding £1 million.

    Kam also has experience of group litigation.

  • Clinical Negligence

    Kam has acted for both claimants and defendants in claims involving trust and private hospitals, consultants, nurses, dentists and general practitioners.  Recent claims include claims arising from alleged delay in diagnosis, misdiagnosis or negligent care and treatment, involving complex issues of breach and causation.

  • Insurance

    Kam has a keen interest in insurance contracts and is regularly instructed to advise and represent insurers and policy holders in coverage disputes.

    His experience covers the entire range of insurance and reinsurance disputes including product liability, professional liability, property damage, construction, EL/PL and fraud.

  • Inquests

    Kam has considerable inquest experience and has acted for families and other properly interested persons including the MoJ, MoD, NHS, MDU and various PCTs.

    Kam is regularly instructed by the Government Legal Department in lengthy jury inquests and has experience of deaths caused by suicide (including deaths in custody) industrial disease, misadventure, natural causes, road traffic collisions and unlawful killing.

  • Sports

    Kam is a keen sportsman and played rugby at a high level for many years.  He is increasingly instructed in injury claims arising from professional and amateur sports.  He is familiar with regulatory and compliance aspects and has a particular interest in sports concussion injuries.
