We provide the highest level of advice and representation in coronial proceedings and have appeared in many high profile cases, often subject to considerable media scrutiny, and fully understand the importance of sensitivity and proper representation in this forum.
We are able to offer a complete service from teams of leading and junior counsel to cost effective junior barristers taking ‘noting briefs’.
We act for all interested parties including, bereaved families, corporates bodies and companies, insurers, local authorities, emergency services, government departments and agencies, hospital trusts, health professionals and care homes, amongst others.
Our Inquests Team includes barristers who also specialise in other areas of law, including personal injury, clinical negligence, disease, motor, criminal regulatory, and professional discipline and regulation. This multi-disciplinary approach ensures that any future claim for damages, prosecution or regulatory hearing can be considered at the outset and our approach would be tailored to securing the best possible long-term outcome for our client.
Our experience includes representation at inquests concerning workplace accidents, road traffic accidents, industrial disease, clinical negligence, educational establishments, deaths arising in custody and other Article 2 matters, restraint, prison, military, local authority responsibility and others.
Several of our barristers sit as Deputy Assistant Coroners and we have also acted as Counsel to the Inquest in long and complex hearings.
